TOMORROW @ 10AM: Congressional Hearing on Terrorism and Digital Financing
(WASHINGTON) – Tomorrow, July 22nd, the Subcommittee on Intelligence and Counterterrorism, chaired by Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), will hold a hearing to examine terrorists’ use of digital technologies – including cryptocurrencies – for fundraising and financing purposes, a key issue that fuels extremists and terrorist groups. The purpose of this hearing is to shed light on the complexities of this problem and the steps the U.S. government is taking to protect the homeland and prevent the funding of terrorist activities.
